Tour planning

The basic rule is:
Don't just go for it!

These simple rules make mountain biking more enjoyable and safer:

Good planning
The route should be planned in advance on a suitable map (preferably on a scale of 1:50,000) and adapted to your current fitness level. In groups, it is the slowest participant who sets the route length and pace.

Weather
You should obtain information about the current weather beforehand; it is often much cooler in the mountains than in the lowlands, especially in spring and fall. When it comes to clothing, the “onion principle” applies with several layers.

On tours in the fall, remember how early dusk sets in! Your rucksack should include battery lights for the front and back and reflective clothing in case of an emergency.

VERY IMPORTANT
If you are going on a tour alone, always let someone know where you want to go - and arrange a time when you will be back.
